If you made it onto Holy Ship! this year, you were treated to some insane b2b sets and rare performances. The 11.0 sailing featured some of the hardest hitting bass-in-your-face artists that electronic music has to offer as well as a set by Deadmau5’s techno side project, Testpilot. Getting Deadmau5 to perform as Testpilot is no easy task. The only other Testpilot sets that have taken place were at Movement in Detroit last year, and most recently, a performance in NYC during New Year’s Eve weekend. 

Back in 2015, it seemed like Joel Zimmerman would have never set foot aboard Holy Ship!. In fact, even when he was onboard, it seemed like he may have regretted the decision altogether (or he could just be trolling). However, we can only thank Testpilot for showing up and throwing down one of the filthiest techno sets we’ve ever heard. 

If you weren’t able to make it onto Holy Ship this year to catch his set, you’re in luck. Thankfully, a Youtube user uploaded the performance in its entirety. Beware, Deadmau5 fans. Prepare to be caught off guard by the deep, dark, techno that is Testpilot.

Kendrick Lamar is going to be performing at the Grammy's this year! The 2018 Grammy Awards have announced additional performers for the upcoming event including U2, Sam Smith, Elton John and more.

The prestigious event also includes previously announce performances from Childish Gambino, SZA, Cardi B and more. Let's not forget how iconic Kendrick's powerful Grammy performance was in 2016 when he appeared in chains. This year Lamar is up for seven Grammy nominations. You should definitely be sure to check out the Madison Square Garden event taking place on Jan. 28. Here's a video of his performance from his last Grammy performance to hold you over a bit longer. ZHU is on fire! He’s been teasing new music lately, specifically his amazing collaboration with Tame Impala, and just tweeted a video teasing a new remix of Camelphat & Elderbrook's collab "Cola

The video shows glitchy, black and white imagery while ZHU’s undeniable production is laid atop the original's vocals leading up to his whispery singing kicking in. All this recent activity from ZHU has us thinking he might be giving us some sort of project soon, but he’s so mysterious there’s no saying what me might be up to. Enjoy!

Kayzo is back with one last hard-hitting release before he drops his debut album OVERLOAD on Jan. 19. The tracks that Kayzo has released off the LP so far have been impressive and true to his energetic, often heavy sound. “FOLLOW YOU” deftly incorporated elements of hardstyle and dubstep into one wide-ranging track, while “OVERLOAD” infused Kayzo’s dubstep sound with some heavy rock influences.

“NEVER ALONE” taps into the skills of fellow producer and collaborator Krimer for some dubstep insanity while delivering the melodic build-ups and satisfying bass kicks that Kayzo has shown over his career. Fans of Kayzo’s style will see his versatility on full display here, best represented by how the high-energy dubstep that closes out the first chorus smoothly fades away into a full, echoing, and beautifully melodic section that refreshes the listener before another round of bass.

R&B singer Tinashe is back with an impressive new single featuring a verse from Migos' Offset. The new single "No Drama" comes after she's been teasing it and it was well worth the wait. The hard-hitting, single brings some great hip-hop production from Stargate and is expected to appear on Tinashe's highly anticipated sophomore album Joyride, which has been years in the making. This is awesome. On his last album, we heard Joey Bada$$ evolve as an artist to include his own singing on more songs. Now he’s putting this talent on full display taking on none other than Prince for an amazing new cover alongside a full band and backing vocalists.

Joey joined Australia’s Triple J for the cover on their Like a Version series that’s seen some incredible and unlikely covers over the years. For this new cover paying homage to the late legend, doing his own version of “When Doves Cry,” calling it “When Thugs Cry” adding some fire new verses. It's cool to hear Joey step out of his comfort zone and still sound great as he makes the original his own and doesn't try to be Prince, but still does the original justice. This was a really cool tribute to the highly influential artist. He also did a live version of “Temptation” below that’s definitely worth checking out. Enjoy!

When Getter first launched his rap project, Terror Reid, we thought it was just a side project he was having fun with… but it’s become apparent he’s taking his rapping very seriously and has seemed to be his main focus lately. For his latest track as Terror Reid, he’s once again blown us away with the hard-hitting track “The Otha Side.”

It helps that he’s already an incredibly talented producer because these beats are insane. Getter’s hip-hop production is like some scary G-Funk and we can’t get enough of his. He has bars too. In the same lane as early Slim Shady stuff, Terror Reid has an instantly recognizable voice paired with impeccable flows and hilarious lyrics. Enjoy!

Today is a big day for fans of trap and hardstyle producer KAYZO as he drops his debut album OVERLOAD. KAYZO consistently impressed us with the singles released off the album, including “NEVER ALONE”, a skillful mix of melodies and dubstep,  “FOLLOW YOU” which deftly incorporated elements of hardstyle into a sonically diverse track, and “OVERLOAD”, a track that infused KAYZO’s sound with some heavy rock influences.

KAYZO rose to electronic music fame by consistently producing mind-bending remixes that pushed the boundaries of his sound, and with his debut album he has distilled that sound into its purest form yet. The LP is thirteen tracks long featuring producers and vocalists like Krimer and Micah Martin that seamlessly blend their own unique styles into KAYZO’s overall project. Happy birthday Joey Bada$$! The 23-year-old rapper just gifted himself some fire for his birthday. Just yesterday he blew us away with a cover of Prince’s “When Doves Cry” calling his version “When Thugs Cry”. Now he’s unleashed a hard-hitting new track “King To A God” alongside fellow rapper Dessy Hinds. Joey shows he’s as hungry as ever on his new track that aw already can’t get enough of. We’re hoping he has some more music like this up his sleeve as it’s just the sound we want to hear from Joey. Enjoy!

With Dirtybird Campout East rapidly approaching, many of us fans were patiently awaiting the release of the imminent Campout Compilation that goes with it. Today, Dirtybird dropped that compilation, and it’s loaded with bangers that we’ve been hearing their DJs play out all year long. There’s plenty of familiar names that are featured on here like Justin Jay, Maximono, Dateless, Lucati, and Bot. The most anticipated track, however, would be the collaboration between Claude VonStroke and Bruno Furlan on “Book Is On The Table”.

This track has been on our radar for a while now, ever since Bruno Furlan dropped it during his banging Dirtybird Campout 2016 set. At the time, the track was listed as a solo Bruno Furlan tune, but it seems as though Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke got his hands on it and added his flair to bring it to completion. If you know anything about Dirtybird, this track essentially embodies what they’re all about. Thick four-on-the-floor kicks, heavy bass, silly, nonsensical lyrics; elements that will have you dancing and giggling at the same time. Enjoy!

Claude VonStroke & Bruno Furlan - Book Is On The Table

Leave it to Jerry Folk to take a pop single and funk it up. The Norwegian native is making big moves this winter with his North American “Foreign Affair Tour” alongside fellow producer SAINT WKND. These shows come off the heels of what was an undoubtedly great year for Folk in which he rocked SoundCloud with a string of refreshing remixes of his favorite tracks like Post Malone’s “Rockstar” and dropped his innovative Purple Feelings mixtape that landed him an honorable mention on the TSIS Top 20 Electronic Albums Of 2017 list (if only it were a full album!).

Now Jerry Folk has taken on Charlie Puth’s hit single “How Long”, chopping, distorting, and bending Puth’s vocals to make a versatile instrument that dominates the track with irresistible hooks and clever percussive sections. One of the most satisfying moments in the track comes near the end when Folk caps off an emotional vocal solo and slow build up with a layered breakdown of vocal chops that flawlessly breaks into an addictive beat accented by a high-pitched ding – like he’s celebrating he nailed the drop.

Charlie Puth - How Long (Jerry Folk Remix)

Robotaki has just dropped his first track of 2018, following up last year’s must hear collaboration with Manila Killa. Today’s song “Together We’re Screwed” features vocals by Nevve, who has appeared on tracks by artists such as DROELOE, SynCole, and Illenium among others. The two have teamed up to give us today’s new tune, which emits upbeat, experimental vibes.

“Together We’re Screwed” comes together with acoustic guitar and warm synth bass as Nevve lays out a playful vocal melody. Robotaki builds the track up with deep pads and spacey keys before breaking it down with gritty bass and a bouncy synth lead. The robotic sounds and melodic energy of the tune give it a future bass feel while incorporating elements of glitch music. The experimental vibe and energetic aura put “Together We’re Screwed” into category of its own. Check it out below and enjoy!

Every year thousands of young music fans go through the struggle of convincing their parents to let them go to their favorite festivals. However, it’s pretty rare for the festival itself to step in and help convince them for you. When hopeful festival attendee Brendan Kaplan decided he wanted to go to Electric Forest 2018, he didn't just try to talk his parents into letting him go, he took it to the next level and crafted a full PowerPoint presentation (below) to convince his parents of the festival’s safety, convenience, and cultural value. To make his argument, Brendan referenced the plentiful amenities, legendary headliners, and the well-known fact that Electric Forest is “unlike any other festival or concert on the planet”.

When Electric Forest HQ caught wind of Brendan’s struggle, they decided to help him get to the Forest in any way they could. With the tight-knit community behind the Festival, Electric Forest decided to ask their "Forest Family" for some help to get Brendan to the festival.

They then replied to Brendan and his mom on Twitter, generously offering Brendan a free GA Wristband and supplying an upgraded PowerPoint presentation of their own highlighting the diverse musical, artistic, and learning experiences that the Forest Family enjoy every year. It's incredible to see a Festival go out of their way to help out a potential new part of the Forest Family by legitimately convincing their parents they would benefit from the experience and give them free access. The Electric Forest community quickly rallied behind Brendan offering their thoughts on how attending this unique festival changed their lives for the better. Within minutes, Brendan’s mom was convinced and Brendan found himself with an amazing experience to look forward to this summer.

Irish artist EDEN has really been making moves over the past few years. Having started out as The Eden Project back in 2015, his slow transition and evolution to his current indie/electronic sound as heard on infectious singles such as “drugs” and “XO” has helped garner him millions of streams across platforms. After years of dropping numerous singles and even a few EP’s, today EDEN has finally released his full length debut album, vertigo. 

This latest offering perfectly exemplifies the experimental, emotional sound we’ve come to expect from EDEN while also chronicling his incredible growth as an artist. From passionate, minimal vocal production as heard on the album’s intro, to powerful down-tempo ballads such as "icarus", EDEN’s pitched, sometimes distorted vocals paired with his now signature blend of soft acoustic instrumentation and intricate electronic production offers a recall to his previous works, while at the same time introducing the listener to the next chapter of his lush, ever-expanding sound. Although included on the album are previously released singles “start//end”, “gold” and “crash”, this 13-track album provides an incredible sonic journey from start to finish. Vanic never disappoints with his remixes, and this time is no different. This time around we’re excited to be premiering his latest remix which is of Above & Beyond’s “We’re All We. Need.”

There’s something about Vanic’s productions that have an uplifting quality about them. He utilizes the impressive vocals from the original track while recreating the production entirely, adding his own chilled out instrumentation and a cinematic future bass drop tying everything together. AHA! Gary Richards is indeed launching his own cruise festival and just announced it will be called “Friend Ship.” Just a few days ago we covered the news that Gary Richards has been cryptically hinting towards something that seemed to be his own festival. Just last night he was performing as Destructo in Brooklyn and made the announcement to fans that he is currently planning his festival cruise “Friend Ship.”

When Richards split ways with HARD events we knew this wouldn’t be the end of his work as a highly respected promoter so his announcement as President of LiveStyle North America (previously known as SFX Entertainment) wasn’t a surprise. He’s been hinting at something coming for a couple weeks now, causing us to speculate that he was going to launch his own boat party shortly and we couldn't be more excited for him. This news is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to hear more details. Stay tuned for more info and enjoy!

When it comes to remixes, Alexander Lewis always brings something fresh to the table. With incredible past collaborative remixes of Sinjin Hawke’s “Onset” Hudson Mohawke’s Song “Chimes” and Lido’s “Murder”, AL’s hard-hitting brass sound continues to set him apart as a producer. Today, one of our favorite brass/bass powerhouses has shared yet another incredible flip, this time of TroyBoi’s album standout, “Flamez”. 

For this latest offering, Alexander Lewis has added some extra gas to TroyBoi’s heater of a track. Starting off with the song’s original opening and buildup, AL has effectively reworked the track’s structure, blending in his own signature horn stabs over a heavy bassline some skittering percussion and future bass-inspired synths on the last drop. Having continued to release both incredible originals and remixes throughout the years, at this point, Alexander Lewis has definitely earned the right to toot his own horn. TSIS favorite Tom Misch has just delivered a new single titled “Water Baby” alongside past collaborator Loyle Carner and is sounding amazing! The two London artists have previously worked together on multiple occasions, including their most popular collaboration “Crazy Dream”. This new release is set to be included on Tom Misch’s forthcoming album Geography that is dropping on April 6th.

“Water Baby” is a funk fueled track, exactly what you’d hope for coming from Misch and Carner. Commencing with swirling synths, accenting horns and Misch's vocals, the track captivates immediately. Carner then drops in with his silky bars and unique voice, complementing the production effortlessly and leading listeners into a horn-filled breakdown with smooth percussion. The two continue to carry out “Water Baby” creating a consistent easy-listening experience. Enjoy!

Kendrick Lamar curating and producing Marvel’s new Black Panther movie is sure to give us some surprises. We’ve already heard his collaboration with SZA, the incredible track “King’s Dead” alongside Jay Rock, Future & James Blake and a short snippet of his track alongside Vince Staples. Now The Weeknd has shared an image of Black Panther on his Instagram and Complex has reported that the two indeed have a song together on the soundtrack.
