Holy Ship! is one of the most legendary electronic music festivals around today, and not just because it’s the only one to take place on a cruise ship sailing the Caribbean. Every year attendees praise the free-spirited onboard culture that results in spontaneous b2b performances from their favorite artists that they never thought they’d see play together.

These impromptu parties have been known to spring up as late (or early) as 6am and last as long as the DJs can go. Legendary unplanned b2bs from years past include Getter and josh pan’s “DJing On Acid” set, Louis The Child, Big Gigantic, Slander, Ghastly, Jai Wolf and Manila Killa’s epic two-hour set, and the truly insane five-hour b2b from Herobust, Jauz, Kayzo, Ookay, Getter and Slushii.

It seems that Holy Ship 10.0 was just as packed with unexpected performances as we saw tweets from artists and audience members roll in listing artists we never thought would play together. We’ve put together a list of the b2bs below with crowd/artist videos on the ones that were lucky enough to get recorded. Stay tuned for updates as soon as these sets hit SoundCloud. Enjoy!

Drezo Drops Dark New Original "Night" To Kick Off 2018

If you’re looking to experience electronic music at its deepest and darkest Drezo is your man. This bass house producer is making big moves in 2018 with the announcement of his “Evil Live” tour in which he promises a cohesive live experience that incorporates all of his signature sounds with tastes of new music to come. His 2017 shows were a mix of headline spots and support roles for other fantastic artists like REZZ, RL Grime and Oliver Heldens and if they’re any indication of what’s to come the Evil Live tour will be a mind-blowing experience.

Night” feels like a slowed-down take on a familiar Drezo soundscape. The beginning of the track has a strong industrial feel to it that expands in range with the introduction of bass kicks and an ambient synth with an orchestral feel to it. A vocal sample instructs the listener to “Follow It Into The Night” as the drop hits and the vibes get darker. The second half of the song takes an even mellower tone, carefully layering an ominous melody with a swelling buildup before dropping the listener right back into the darkness.

Check the track out below and be sure to snag tickets to see Drezo on tour with support from talent like k?d, Robotaki, Bijou and loosid. Enjoy!

There’s something about songs that have production build throughout that just sound so good. Kendrick Lamar, Future & James Blake Join Forces With Jay Rock On Must Hear, Hard-Hitting Song "Kings Dead"

It was announced a few weeks ago that Kendrick Lamar would be curating the soundtrack for the forthcoming Black Panther movie, which came with a brand-new collaboration from Kendrick and Top Dawg Entertainment labelmate SZA. For the second single off the soundtrack, TDE member Jay Rock has teamed up with Kendrick Lamar, Future, and James Blake for "King's Dead," which also serves as the first single to Jay Rock's next album.

Fans of Kendrick's "HUMBLE." and "DNA" will instantly be excited to hear K. Dot team up with producer Mike Will Made-It again over this trap beat, but the song is full of surprises throughout its duration. Jay Rock lays down a highly technical verse that shows off his lyricism before Kendrick and Future come back in for the call-and-response chorus, followed by a silly and unexpected falsetto bridge from Future.

Mike Will and producer Teddy Walton then transition into a beat switch (with James Blake vocals!) for the end of the song that allows Kendrick to go wild over an intense, bass-heavy, distorted instrumental. Kendrick absolutely snaps on this, similar to the back half of "DNA" and fits a crazy amount of bars into the last minute.

The style of this song is completely different than the Kendrick x SZA collaboration, and we cannot wait to hear what else the Black Panther soundtrack has in store for us. The soundtrack drops February 9th, with the movie premiering the following week. Enjoy!

Marshmello Honors Lil Peep, Shares Emotive Collaboration “Spotlight”

For the first official posthumous release since his tragic death last year, Lil Peep is featured on Marshmello's latest song entitled "Spotlight." Marshmello said that the mother of Gus Ahr (aka Lil Peep) reached out to him because she wanted all of her son's unheard music to be released for his fans.

We're happy she did, because his life was unexpectedly cut short before we got to hear more music from the young rising rapper. Marshmello matches the emo-rap hybrid sound that Peep was known for and allows for his vocals to remain the focal point of the song while putting together a perfect backdrop of bright melodies and trap inspired hip-hip drums. The track sounds like something Peep would've released on SoundCloud before his major label debut last year, and I'm sure he would have been happy to share this with the world. Enjoy!

Now only just a week away, we are inching closer and closer to the highly anticipated drop of Lane 8’s sophomore album, Little By Little. The San Francisco native has kept his fans well satiated over the past month with a spree of album singles including "Coming Back To You", "Atlas" and more building up hype for what's shaping up to be an incredible deep house album.

Today, Lane 8 has decided to release the fourth single and likely final single from Little By Little, which is set to release on his own imprint, This Never Happened. The new single, titled “Stir Me Up” embodies everything we love about Lane 8. Within the first twenty seconds of the track, we’re hit with his stunning, swelling synth chords that instantly pluck at our heartstrings. Soon after, silky smooth vocals (by an uncredited female artist) are brought in to perfectly match the melody. The track then eventually becomes complete around the halfway mark, when Lane 8’s unforgettable kicks drop.

Lane 8 has found an incredible way to merge deep and progressive house together to create something truly beautiful and accessible to anyone. Be on the lookout on January 19th for when his new album finally comes out. Enjoy!

Brooklyn-based trio Savoy has started off 2018 with a motto we can definitely get behind - “New year, new free music!” Having ended 2017 with their infectious singles “How U Like Me Now” and “Up All Night”, today they’ve taken advantage of their fresh start with an awesome new independent release, “Don't Quit Me Now”.

Although throughout the years Savoy has continued to keep us on our toes when it comes to switching up their sound, they seem to have landed on a chill, instrumental vibe with their first offering of the new year. Starting off slow with a soft piano melody and distant vocal chops, some energetic percussion and distorted, pulsing bass progresses the track in and out of lush synth driven choruses and guitar filled breaks. Enjoy!

Swedish artist Skott has an incredible voice and talent for songwriting that she’s put on full display with her  new EP Stay Off My Mind. The unique singer first popped up on our radar for amazing songs like “Porcelain” and “Wolf” as she takes a less dark direction on her latest showing off her versatility. She reportedly grew up in a forest commune, separated from city life until her mid-teens and only exposed to the folk music from her upbringing. Her wild voice and songwriting make for a perfect combination as her whispy voice soars atop the gentle electronic production. Stay tuned for more from this rising singer and Enjoy!

Chrome Sparks has just dropped his impressive new single “What’s It Gonna Take” featuring vocalist Angelica Bess and it's just what we wanted to hear from him. The Brooklyn producer made a major impact in 2013 with his standout single “Marijuana”. Since, he has been seen on Future Classic compilations and Remix packages for the likes of London Grammar, Porter Robinson and The Glitch Mob. Now, we are fortunate enough to receive a Chrome Sparks original that embodies his one-of-a-kind sound.

Commencing with powerful synths, Chrome Sparks makes a statement right away. Queue Angelica Bess whose tone fits into the production like a glove. The track maintains energy throughout with retro synths and scattered percussion. “What’s It Gonna Take” is laidback and designer, a song built around crisp production with unique songwriting… a song that Chrome Sparks killed. Enjoy!

Vancouver duo Young Bombs are back with another great remix! They’ve been on a roll with their remixes taking on artists like G-Eazy, LÉON and more as they are back at it with an impressive flip of Post Malone’s “I Fall Apart”.

The chill take on Post Malone’s hit effortlessly matches the vibe of the original while making it entirely their own as they mix influences from 80s music with their modern electronic production. The duo builds the instrumental from the ground up, incorporating a laid back guitar riff, big drums and a energetic drop filled with bright melodic synths tying everything together. Young Bombs plan on rolling out a new remix each month this year in addition to their original music that they’ve taken time off from remixing to work on. Stay tuned for their forthcoming originals and remixes and enjoy!

Watch deadmau5 Tease Almost 40 Minutes Of Unreleased Music From New Orchestral Project

Today we got another glimpse into deadmau5’s mysterious upcoming project that seems to take his music in a whole new direction. Over the past few weeks Joel Zimmerman has cryptically teased what he’s called “seriously, the most epic thing I've ever done with my music”, only letting slip one hint: that it involves “an actual 60 piece orchestra”. Initially, fans believed that the new project might be related to the orchestral rendition of “Strobe” that deadmau5 teased a few weeks ago, but Joel quickly shot down that theory while leaving open the possibility that he was scoring a film.

Now in a video captured from his Twitch stream, deadmau5 dropped nearly 40 straight minutes of original orchestral music. The composition is unlike anything we’ve ever heard from deadmau5, with swelling, emotional crescendos and quiet, intricate breakdowns that would completely fit in a film score. Longtime deamau5 fans may notice that Joel has always been a fan of drawn out, atmospheric build-ups in his music, and this style translates perfectly into the classical suite.

We’re extremely excited for whatever this project turns out to be. Check out the 38-minute video below and enjoy!

Zeds Dead Pay Homage To Drum ’N Bass With Special New Edition Of Deadbeats Radio Mix

Deadbeats Radio has been pumping out quality mixes ever since its inception just six months ago. It’s truly jaw dropping how many tracks Zeds Dead are sitting on in their music library to be able to throw down an hourlong mix every week. Every few weeks or so the Canadian duo chooses to keep their radio mixes fresh by introducing a guest or by having a “special” mix like their dubstep throwback episode, which remains their most popular episode to date. This past weekend, Zeds Dead decided to put out a Drum ‘n Bass version of Deadbeats Radio as their 29th episode, and it’s fire all the way through.

Early on in the mix the two artists hop on the mic to discuss their background with drum ‘n bass. They talk about how it was their first “gateway drug into electronic music” and how it inspired them to really hone in their production skills. It’s safe to say that without dnb, Zeds Dead may not have been the power duo they are today, so it’s cool to see them pay homage to the groundbreaking genre.

Zeds Dead themselves have stated that they will be focusing their 2018 efforts in the studio working on new music, growing their label, their radio show, and their live shows. They also noted that there will be even more guest mixes and themed episodes for Deadbeats Radio, so if you liked this mix, be on the lookout for more.

Cashmere Cat, Major Lazer & Tory Lanez Make A Perfect Team On Bouncy New Single “Miss You”

Every once in a while a dream collaboration just falls right into your lap. Today happens to be one of those days. Cashmere Cat, Major Lazer, and Tory Lanez have teamed up and dropped a brand new single that has “smash hit” written all over it. We heard the three artists played the song out last month in Miami and now it's here in full and sounding as good as we could have hoped.

The new tune, “Miss You”, marks the first time that Cashmere Cat and Major Lazer have joined forces to collaborate on a track. Tory Lanez and Cashmere Cat have worked together a couple times in the past, but adding Major Lazer’s upbeat and bouncy touch into the equation completely changes the game. On top of all these artists, Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco have writing credits on the potential hit.

When a collab like this comes along, it seems like a no-brainer, something that should have been done ages ago. Tory Lanez breezy, falsetto vocals are the perfect addition to the production. The hit making power of Diplo via Major Lazer, combined with the bubbly sound design of Cashmere Cat play off each other so well. We’re convinced that this won’t be the only time we see these artists work together.

With the weather getting colder and colder, “Miss You” will certainly warm up your Tuesday. Enjoy!

Snow’s new track “Egyptian Luvr” enlists help from “Caroline” rapper Amine and the angelic vocals of Dana Williams to hold down the hook. Right off the start, Kaytra’s instrumental is recognizable with the lush bassline and skittering, syncopated percussion laying down a smooth foundation for each artist to sound great atop. Enjoy!

Lightning In A Bottle Announces 2018 Lineup Ft. Anderson .Paak, GRiZ, ZHU & More

As more music festivals sprout up all around the country, there’s some festivals that prides themselves in setting their lineups apart from most other festivals. One of these festivals is Lightning In A Bottle, presented by the Do LaB. If that name rings a bell, it’s probably because the Do LaB is very well known for their curated stage at Coachella as well as producing other festivals like Dirtybird Campout. If there’s one thing that should be known about the Do LaB, it’s that they have impeccable taste. The festival has also become known for creating amazing stages making for an immersive experience.

This year’s lineup just dropped, and it’s one of the best we’ve seen so far for 2018. As far as their top-billed artists go, they’ve compiled an eclectic list: Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Emancipator, ZHU, GRiZ, Tipper, Nicole Moudaber, MK, and Stimming and more. These names alone are enough to get us hyped, but there's even more treasure in the middle of the lineup card where we see artists like Sango, Giraffage, NAO, The Glitch Mob, Tokimonsta, Clozee, Mad Zach, Krane, Walker & Royce, X&G, Yotto, Emmit Fenn, The Funk Hunters,  and so much more.

Not only has LiB assembled a wide-ranging lineup that has a little something for everyone, but within that range lies some of the best artists each genre has to offer. If you have the time and resources to attend in 2018, it would be silly not to.

A rising artist we've been very excited about recently is the talented producer, songwriter and vocalist Emmit Fenn. Today we have a special premiere from the young artist as he's reimagined his must hear song "Blinded" with a new remix accompanied by an acoustic live video

"“Blinded was always a song that I knew I wanted to reimagine in a different way and as I started to put together my live show, it was the first song I jumped to. Finished the track in a couple hours and loved it so much that I told my roommate to grab his video camera. Then it all just came together.” - Emmit Fenn

Each of his releases are packed with emotion and "Blinded" is no different. The incredible, somber tune is an amazing laidback song, but this new version he's crafted is perfect for a live setting. Fenn recreated the song, adding entirely new percussion with a shaker and hi-hats adding a new level of energy and danceability. He also incorporates some new keys and bright melodies while maintaining the best elements of the original with new layers dropping in and out combining with each other perfectly. Both version of the song are incredible, and we can't wait to see Fenn live as he proves in this video he's effortless able to recreate his songs live with his vocals sounding as great as ever. He just announced a show at Lightning In A Bottle this summer so make sure to catch his set if you're going. Enjoy!
