Kaytranada Just Released Four New Tracks

$

Kaytranada just opened his vaults and unleashed not one, not two, but FOUR new tracks. Anytime we get new music from Kaytranada is a treat, and we’re certainly excited he’s back with new music to hold us over. This time he’s flipped songs including A Tribe Called Quest’s “Midnight,” Sade’s “Kiss Of Life,” and originals simply dated “KAYTRA2018 04 27” and “KAYTRA2018 03 19.”

The loose songs showcase his signature basslines and skittering drums we’ve loved from the TSIS favorite over the years. We’re not sure when the follow-up project to 99.9% might come, but we’ll keep these on repeat for the meantime as we know he’s a perfectionist that isn’t going to rush his next release. Enjoy!

Aminé Steps His Game Up With Impressive New Album “ONEPOINTFIVE”

Aminé stole everyone’s hearts back in 2016 with his infectious, speaker knocking single “Caroline.” You couldn’t go to any party without hearing it at least twice. “Caroline” led to Aminé’s appearance on XXL’s Freshman 2017 cover, which helped expose the Portland rapper to a wider audience ahead of his debut studio album Good For You

Today, Aminé drops his second studio album ONEPOINTFIVE. He was relatively quiet about his progress on the album, only hopping on Twitter back in June to let people know that he’s still alive and working. Yesterday he tweeted out a short little trailer, saying it would drop today, and -- well, here it is!

ONEPOINTFIVE is a total of 13 tracks long and features rappers Gunna, G Herbo, and Rico Nasty. Similar to Good For You, Aminée’s lyrical content tends to gravitate towards brief, intimate, little modern day love stories. The production isn’t too heavy, and it fits his style perfectly, letting you hear each syllable from him very clearly. That being said, some of these beats certainly provide a fair amount of thump.

Although we enjoyed Good For You, ONEPOINTFIVE sounds like Aminé is taking himself a bit more seriously this time around, with his focus clearly on storytelling, lyrical flow, and appropriately hard beats. If you weren’t a fan of his first album, we highly recommend giving him another chance on this new project.

THEY. Flip Chromeo & DRAM’s “Must’ve Been” Into Extra Chill R&B Track

THEY. may have pulled off the incredibly rare feat: creating a remix that sounds entirely different from the original. Back in April, Chromeo released a viciously catchy tune featuring DRAM titled "Must've Been," which was the third single to their recently dropped album, Head Over Heels"Must've Been" was doing particularly well, collecting millions of streams, and even received remixes from artists CID, Mercer, and Yolanda Be Cool.

Those remixes however, were no match for the makeover that THEY. were able to give the tune. The steadily rising R&B duo took "Must've Been" and made it their own by entirely switching the vibe on the infectious, upbeat, track. The first things you'll notice are the retro synths and punching kick drums, paired with some deep 808s, done by Dante Jones. Drew Love then comes in with his own verse, and the deed is done.

The remix certainly retains the perfect danceability that Chromeo set the stage with, but THEY. just took it to the next level. This tune is now perfectly club ready.

Listen to the new track below and enjoy!

Jerry Folk Shares Brilliant New Track “Charlotte” Ahead Of Forthcoming EP

In the midst of a rollout for his new forthcoming EP, Norwegian artist Jerry Folk was planning on dropping another single this week. Due to an unforeseen issue with Spotify, however, the single has been delayed until next Monday. Jerry Folk, being the generous soul that he is, decided to drop a loosie for us anyway, to hold us over until next week.

The track is called “Charlotte,” and it features more of Jerry Folk’s ethereal melodies combined with impactful percussion, laying the perfect groundwork for the soulful vocals on top. According to the description, the track is called “Charlotte” because the vocal sample is pulled from the song “Find You” by Charlotte Day Wilson, a Canadian singer hailing from Toronto. Her vocals work so well here, we wouldn’t be surprised if the two artists linked up in the future!

It’s unclear whether or not “Charlotte” will be on Jerry Folk’s new EP, Leisure Tapes, but regardless, we’re loving it. Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming EP, and stream “Charlotte” below. Enjoy!

Today we have the pleasure of introducing rising Canadian producer Conro with the premiere of his irresistible new song "Trippin" via Monstercat, and it's definitely going to be stuck in our head for a minute.

"Trippin was a song that really came naturally to me. I remember taking my dog for a walk and started humming a melody, then lyrics started flooding my brain. Jammed in the studio for a while and Trippin was born! I’m ecstatic for not only this track to be out, but for what I have coming this fall. I’ve been waiting to release a lot of this music for quite a bit of time and I’m so excited to share it with all of you!" - Conro

Conro crafts an infectious beat characterized by the deep, funky bassline while his bouncing synths and crisp percussion lay the perfect foundation for the whispy vocals to float buoyantly atop. Conro's background in music started playing in rock n' roll and alternative bands before moving into electronic production while living in a 25ft trailer working security in a boatyard. We're excited to see where Conro goes from here. Enjoy!

Baauer is back with more new music! Last month he linked up with AJ Tracy & Jae Stephens on his summer-ready song "3AM" and we've had it on repeat ever since. Now he's dropped even more new music with the release of "Hate Me," which has a bit of a strange feature since the featured artist Miquela isn't actually a real human but a "Cyber" girl who exists as an robot.

Baauer takes things in a bright, lighthearted direction on his production with a gentle, uplifting sound design showing off a more chill direction from the TSIS favorite following in a similar vein as his last single. Enjoy!

Yesterday we lost one of the most influential artists in music history, Aretha Franklin. For over half a century the Queen of Soul’s powerful voice touched the hearts of countless peoples across the world and inspired generation upon generation of young artists. Today, as we reflect upon the impact that Aretha has had on the world of music, that to pay respect to the late singer and pianist, Gramatik has shared a tribute titled “Let Me Know The Way”.

"Over the last 15+ years, I’ve sampled her countless times and learned the craft through sampling her amazing discography. 2 of the most prominent beats of mine with samples of her are “In This Whole World” and “I’m Free”, and even to this day, coincidentally, I made 3 beats last month for SB5 with samples from her songs, this is one of them. She was a force of nature, a voice of a generation and an inspiration to us all. We will miss you dearly, my Queen. ♥️” - Gramatik

Sampling “The Long And Winding Road”, Gramatik crafts a soulful, rhythmic boom-bap type beat around Aretha’s distinctive vocals, perfectly capturing the emotional, larger-than-life feeling that could only be achieved by the late Queen. Check out “Let Me Know The Way” below and enjoy.

Mr. Carmack Drops Dark, Eerie, & Melodic Beat “Warsaw, Canada”

As Mr. Carmack states in the SoundCloud description of his brand new track, he “hasn’t made a beat in a month.” The last little piece of genius that he dropped was the brutally hard “This Is America.” Considering it’s some of the best we’ve heard from Carmack, it was going to be difficult to follow up, but he had to put out something sooner or later.

Today, Mr. Carmack dropped “Warsaw, Canada” a tightly knit, dark and eerie beat that plays around with some dreamy melodies. The general array of sounds that Carmack utilizes in this beat is hypnotizing on its own, but he still manages to find a solid groove that will keep your head bobbing throughout the whole track.

Honestly, this almost feels like a throwaway beat for Carmack, the way he nonchalantly dropped it out of nowhere, with hardly any support on his social media. But even then, a throwaway beat from this legend is better than some artist’s whole catalogs. Keep doing what you’re doing, Mr. Carmack.

Reo Cragun is back! The rising rapper & singer has been steadily rising for the past couple years with his incredible voice and songwriting impressing us every time he puts out new music. It's been a few months since we heard from him and today he's decided to upload a loose single on SoundCloud titled "Last Goodbyes" and it's amazing.

The largest playlist in the world for dance and electronic music is the mint playlist from Spotify and they recently just hit a milestone, breaking 5 million followers. To celebrate such a huge achievement they launched their first ever line of mint branded merchandise.

They put a little more thought into this and actually partnered up with the incredible To Write Loves On Her Arms organization and all proceeds are going to be supporting mental health.

Austin Kramer, Spotify Global Dance & Electronic programmer, is not only the person behind curating the mint playlist, but was the driving force of this initiative. This is what he had to say about it.

“All the proceeds from the merch will go toward TWLOHA,” says Austin Kramer, Spotify’s global head of dance & electronic music. “With so much renewed attention about mental health in the music community, we wanted to collaborate with a non-profit that is dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. They’ve been fighting stigma and bringing resources to creators since 2006.”

You can see the full line and purchase here and I encourage you to support this amazing cause and grab some of this cool looking merch, I grabbed the jacket.

2018 has been a huge year for Jauz so far... but it seems that it’s only going to get bigger and better from here. With Jauz’s debut album, The Wise and The Wicked recently announced for release at the end of next week, today the LA-based producer has shared an absolutely stacked tracklist for the upcoming project.

“When I’m writing music, half of my brain wants to write fun, crazy bangers for parties, clubs, fests, etc. This is represented by “The Wicked” The other half of the time I want to write emotional, intelligent, experimental music that feeds the “inner artist” in myself, which is represented by “The Wise.” The middle ground, which is where I strive to really be, is a blend of the melodic, emotional parts of my music paired with high energy drops and climaxes. This is represented by “The United.” - Jauz

Although included on the album will be recently released collabs with DJ Snake, Lazer Lazer Lazer, Snails and Kiiara, with features from a total of 20 artists at a whopping 23-tracks, to say Jauz has been hard at work on this forthcoming offering would be an understatement. Divided into five chapters, we’ll be hearing some heavy new songs with Tisoki, Krewella, Adventure Club, Ducky and many more off this project, so make sure to mark your calendars as the full release drops on Aug. 31! See Jauz’s announcement below and enjoy!

There's just no stopping this man. Lane 8 has had an insane year so far and shows no signs at slowing down even a little bit. His Little By Little album was released at the beginning of the year and is still one of our favorite releases this year. On top of that he's kept a constant output of music including an EP, loose singles and various remixes that each showcase just how incredible of a producer he is.

Now he's not only shared a new remix of George FitzGerald's "Burns," but Lane 8 took it upon himself to share two versions: a club mix and a morning mix. Last month he dropped loose single "The Disappearance of Colonel Mustard" which came shortly after a 5-hour mix and his "Bluebird / Duchess" EP. Now he's placed his spin on the already amazing original putting his magic touch on both version, as he once again delivers some incredible chill house. Enjoy!

If you know Lido, you may know that he loves taking music to the next level. Whether it’s concocting extended Kanye remixes, dropping his out-of-this-world original work, or enlisting an entire orchestra to play out his favorite tracks, Lido’s musical endeavors know no bounds.

Lido recently uploaded a very brief video to Twitter of him conducting a group of string players. The clip isn’t quite long enough for us to figure out what it is that they’re performing, but with Lido at the helm, we’re hoping it could be something similar to his performance with KORK Orchestra back in 2015.

When more information emerges, we’ll be the first to let you know. Check out the video below and stay tuned!

It no secret that Bro Safari & UFO! have a long collaborative history together. Although they both respectively have brought absolute fire to the bass music world over the years, when the two get together it’s a whole new ballgame. Today, following up their recent release “N.U.M.B.” and continuing the slow unveiling of their forthcoming collab album Clockwork, we’re excited to be premiering their new track “Inaccessible”.

As the heavyweight-duo’s full album will be released in three segments over the next few weeks, this latest offering comes as part of their three-track Clockwork (Pt. 1). Although the two have teamed up on full length projects in the past such as their Animal LP, “Inaccessible” is something we definitely weren’t prepared for. Following the jungle theme established in “N.U.M.B.”, with eerie atmospheric soundscapes, booming percussion and deep pulsing bass, Bro Safari & UFO! have perfectly expanded upon their dark, ominous science fiction narrative with this heavy trap/house/moombahton hybrid. Check out “Inaccessible” below and keep an eye out for more from the duo over the next few weeks. Enjoy!
